Welcome to Hillcrest Apartments in Oakland, California.
Hillcrest Investment Group, commonly referred to as Hillcrest Apartments, is a Mission Revival-style apartment building constructed in 1926. It was acquired by the current owners in 1984. This is a three-story wood-frame structure with a stucco exterior.
It is an 18-unit building, consisting of 15 1-bedroom and 3 studio apartments. The basement level contains six individual garages and 4 outdoor parking spaces and laundry facilities. An innovative indoor bicycle rack was installed in the basement to maximize bicycle storage. At the time of purchase, extensive remodeling was completed,
including new interior wallboard and ceilings with R-C channel for soundproofing, new copper plumbing, complete re-wiring and installation of energy-efficient light fixtures, new cabinetry and kitchen/bathroom fixtures. The majority of original mosaic tile bathroom floors were in excellent condition at the time and have since been maintained.
Hillcrest is a “community-based” apartment building. We encourage tenants to support one another. We use the application, slack, as a way for tenants to communicate with one another. One of the most frequent requests is someone asking for help watering plants or watching their cat while they are out of town.
